We wish you Happy New Year and your further business success and good health this year!

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your interest in our education and training programs over the years. We look forward to continuing to support you to achieve excellent performance at the team and organizational level.

The long-term maintenance and expansion of ICT systems is unavoidable, so the scale and complexity are unimaginable. With anticipation of new needs, it is becoming increasingly important to quickly incorporate them into ICT systems and provide them to users as needed . Engineers, teams, and their organizations must play a leading role in this system update.

However, at present, engineers and teams devote 30~50% of their planned efforts to testing to follow the "development process of eliminating defects through testing". This reduction in testing effort should be resolved.

In order to solve this problem, it is important for each engineer to first acquire the basic ability to "identify the necessary functions to be developed, create a development plan, and generate high-quality designs and high-quality modules as planned" (Note 1) (Self-directed engineer).

Next, multiple such engineers "build a team that can work effectively, listen to requirements, priorities, success criteria, and expectations for the team and development from senior management, identify the best system functions and detailed development work, divide the work over the team members, create a development plan that is considered the best and realistic, explain and propose the plan to senior management and stakeholders for review and approval." (Note 1): Why don't you start with these approaches (Self-directed teams)?

To achieve the above, our qualified instructors and coaches will provide you with the education and training and on-the-job training in accordance with the personal process (Note 1) to ensure that you have mastered the basic skills of self-directed engineers. You'll learn how to plan for the fastest possible development on time and how to eliminate more defects before testing begins.

Next, we will guide you in detail and provide coaching according to the team process (Note 1) from the team building to the closure of the development project. In either case, no prerequisite knowledge is required. When necessary, we will provide a systems thinking and design thinking approach, story mapping, systems engineering, etc. on-demand mode.

We expect that you develop and provide ICT systems as planned and in a timely manner, you will be able to contribute to the achievement of the business goals of users and system owners.

If the development cost can be reduced by about 20~30% compared with the current cost (Note 2), it may allow to shorten the development schedule, work on the next project early, design a new ICT system, investigate new technologies, or take skill-up education.

Next Process Research Institute (NPI) has been providing such educational training and coaching in an easy-to-understand manner over the long term[2]. We would like you to use us cost-effectively.

If you are interested in introducing these, or if you have any questions, consultations, or requests, please contact our staff (contact-us@next-process.com).

First, please visit the page "TSP Process Training Objectives", followed by "Introduction to TSP Courses" page. If you would like to take seminars or training, please send your application information according to "TSP Course Registration" page or questions to the "Contact Us" page.

Thank you,

Note 1. PSP/TSP (Personal Software Process/Team Software Process) was developed and verified in 2001 by Software CMM advocate Dr. Watts S. Humphrey. Many companies, including Boeing and Microsoft, demonstrated this achievement and in 2009 the President of the United States awarded Humphrey the National Medal of Technology (Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute's Watts Humphrey Awarded Prestigious National Medal of Technology (cmu.edu))。

CMM, PSP and TSP are service marks of Carnegie Mellon University in the UNITED States.

Note 2: The TSP Symposium report sponsored by CMU/SEI (2006-2014) has shown the performance results TSP users in North America, Europe, and Asia. The same is true for TSP projects conducted by graduate students.
